Shlok Jadhav

I'm a Computer Science and Data Science student at UW–Madison, graduating in May 2028.

I build data-driven systems across machine learning, computer vision, and applied research. I like taking a project all the way from the underlying models to the interface someone uses.

Right now, I'm working on perception for sustainable aquaculture at TidalX AI and looking for Summer 2027 internships in software engineering, machine learning, and data science.

About

I realized pretty early on that college is not just about classes and grades for me. It is also about the lifestyle you create and what you choose to make of the experience. I have always tried not to become too content, because I believe the greatest personal growth happens when I embrace discomfort and push myself beyond what feels familiar.

Outside of class, I am involved in research and several student organizations on campus, and I also love building projects for fun. Personal projects give me the creative freedom to take an idea from its earliest stages through the final details. Through them, I have grown to appreciate every part of the building process, from brainstorming and problem-solving to design and implementation.

I enjoy keeping myself busy, and I firmly believe there are always new things to learn, people to meet, and places to explore.

In my free time, I stay involved in a mix of hobbies. Music is a big part of my day, although what I listen to changes pretty often. I also enjoy playing video games, which have been part of my life since I was young, from playing on my sister’s Nintendo DS to using our family Wii. I am also a huge Pokémon fan and can recognize almost every Pokémon, although maybe not quite as many as I used to.

Sports have been another constant throughout my life. I have played and followed them for as long as I can remember. Basketball is probably my favorite sport, and I have been a dedicated Golden State Warriors fan since I was a kid. I also practiced Taekwondo for a little over a decade, which shaped not only my work ethic but also a significant part of who I am. Since starting college, I have gotten into weightlifting and enjoy pushing myself toward new personal records.

Traveling has also always been a major part of my life. I have been fortunate to visit many different places while growing up, and I am especially excited to explore countries such as Egypt, Singapore, and Switzerland in the future.
